Walking through the woods with a gathering basket is the absolute best way to collect components for making a woodland fairy doll. If, however, you are not in close proximity to any woods, walking down the fake and silk flower aisle at any department or hobby store will suffice. You can fashion doll faces and bodies in a variety of ways.

You can use a simple wooden slotted clothes pin for the body. Drill a hole through the clothespin, 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch down from the top knob. Push the pipe cleaner through this drilled channel.

Fold the ends back to form hands on the ends of the pipe cleaner. Adjust to the desired length. Paint eyes or simply make two dots on the top portion of the clothespin for eyes.

Cut some tendrils to the desired length for hair. Attach these hair shapes to the top and sides of the head with glue. You can also fashion hair from strips of leaves or other natural forms.
