Wicker furniture has a nostalgic, small-town appeal, evoking memories of a time when people would spend the evening sitting on their front porches. Nowadays, true wicker, rather than modern imitation vinyl wicker, is collectible. Wicker is actually made from rattan, which comes from a climbing tropical tree that produces a tough wood.
According to Dr. Leona Hawks of Utah State University Cooperative Extension, wicker is taken from the core of the tree, which is shredded into strands. Given that more and more "wicker" furniture is actually vinyl, it's well worth restoring a real wicker piece. Brush the wicker piece with a soft metal brush to remove as much old paint as possible, as recommended by wicker refinishing expert Cathryn Peters.
You can brush vigorously, but take care not to pull on the canes or damage the joinery. Use an old knife or similar object to remove loose paint that is stuck in crevices. The piece does not have to be perfectly stripped, but do get rid of all loose ... more.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
