This will help loosen the glop. While the towels are warming up in the dryer, mix about a tablespoon of laundry detergent with a little bit of water, to create a paste. Take the towels out of the dryer.

Use the detergent paste on a rag, and scrub the gum or crayon area. After the glop has been removed, wipe down the inside of the dryer for any remaining residue. Dry some damp, clean rags in the dryer to make sure all the glop is gone.
