Basic Input Output System (BIOS) passwords are used to prevent unauthorized access to your system BIOS. If you no longer need your Toshiba Tecra BIOS password or want a new one, reset it. The BIOS password is required while booting your computer or after bringing your computer out of Standby mode.
Resetting the BIOS password allows you to use an easier password or prevents you from having to enter a password when turning on your computer. Turn off your Toshiba Tecra and wait at least 30 seconds before continuing. Turn your Toshiba Tecra back on.
Press either "Esc" repeatedly as soon as your Toshiba Tecra starts up. Enter your BIOS password. Press "F1" when prompted.
