How Do You Solve Simultaneous Equations By Algebraic Method?

You have it right, though I don't know how you did it, because... When you subtracted, you didn't multiply the WHOLE equation by -1; that would have bollixed it up. You'd have been better off multiplying the top by 3 and the bottom by 7; then the y's would have dropped (they have opposite signs, see?) Thankfully, when you got the equation just in y, everything was correct. (How, I'm not quite sure.) Doing it the easy way, you'd have had: 9x - 21y = 57 and 35x + 21y = 42.

NOW combine; the y goes away, 44x = 99 and x = 9/4. Now substitute into the first equation to solve for y. -7y = 19 - 27/4 = 76/4 - 27/4 = 49/4, so y = -7/4.

Sometimes you catch a break, I suppose...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
