How Do You Speed Up Vista Computers By Tweaking Performance Options?

There is no doubt that Windows Vista is packed with cool graphics, great animations, and improved security compared to its predecessor Windows XP. But it comes with a price - it is resource hungry and therefore the performance is decreased. However, there are tweaks that you can do to disable some of the features that make Vista look good to help speed up your computer.

Here are the steps on how to speed up Vista computers by tweaking the performance options. Go to Start => Control Panel. If you are in a "Categorized View", click on "System and Maintenance" then double-click the "Performance Information Tools" icon.

If you are in a "Classic View", simply double-click the icon for "Performance Information Tools". On the "Performance Information Tools" window, choose "Adjust visual effects". You will be prompted for User Account Control dialog box before you can continue.
