How do you think you would cope without cell phones, computers and the internet?

I think it's going to be an interesting day that is most assuredly going to come our way. Email isn't 20 years old is it? Yet the technology we enjoy today has crossed generational lines, with the newest generations already absorbing the latest faster than today's 25 year olds. It's all very amazing, but we need to prepare.

As I write this I am using a satellite to communicate with you as my husband drives up I-75. I'm looking at fields of white cotton ready for harvest with cell towers dotting the landscape and puffy white clouds floating lazily across a wide expanse of blue sky, knowing full well that the satellites above them could be shut down in an instant and my cell phone gone just as fast. This lovely southern afternoon could be very deceiving if world tensions suddenly snapped.

Um...do you think this drive is getting a little toooo long? :).

Great question! Not very well, I'm afraid. My electricity went out for an hour a few months ago and I was going crazy.

And I'm one who doesn't think all this technology is necessarily a good thing. But they've got us good... what got me was, I couldn't do anything... nothing in my house worked! It was a really weird feeling to see how much we rely on technology.

I cannot. Just last night, my first computer just went off. I repeatedly attempted to push the on bottom to no avail.

Now, I I have to get the first computer fixed and repaired. Thank God, I have a second computer for backup. If I did not, I would not know what to do.

I would go crazy. I need my computers. I am thinking of purchasing a third one.

One can never have enough computers.

I was born in the depression,a long time before cell phones and such. We did fine kids grew up ,we ate,got educated and made a living. I believe we could (and will) do it again. My grandchildren would beg to differ.

But I say what goes up must come down. The bubble will burst.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
