How does a person distinguish between a carport and a garage?

A carport is usually a portable freestanding structure. It has only four cornerposts and a roof. The sides are open so it protects your automobile from the weather but offers no security.

A garage however is totally enclosed and so can be locked up.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
