How does KIVA calculate inflow and outflow of species for crevice region?

Page courtesy of Satbir Singh ERCCRV subroutine is used to calculate mass flow rate of mixture into or out of the crevice region based on crevice flow model. After the total mass flow rate is calculated, NEWCREVICE performs calculations for the cells on top of piston and next to cylinder wall (ncrvcells). The existing mass fraction of all the species in these cells is used to calculate the mass flow rate of any particular species into or out of the crevice region.

Example: Premixed mixture of air and Methane. During the compression stroke, since the only species present in the combustion chamber are oxygen, nitrogen, and methane. KIVA will put in the mass of each species into the crevice region based on that species concentration in the cells explained above (ncrvcells).

During the combustion process, KIVA will put in all the 12 species into the crevice region, depending upon their concentration in ncrvcells cells. During the expansion stroke, when species start to come out of the ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
