How does one become a dog groomer?

There are classes in which you can obtain a degree in becoming a dog groomer, which is usually about a 6 month course. However, this really isn't necessary. You can simply get a job at a dogs|dog groomer as an assistance and learn the practice.

I have researched this and there is really not a type of license or certification necessary to become a dog groomer. There is an association of dog groomers called National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA). It is recommended that you are a member of this and obtain the certification, but not URL1 main concern would be with liability issues.

If you plan on doing this out of your home or business, you will need to obtain insurance. One for yourself in case you get mauled by a dog and two if something happens to one of the dogs while in your care or a person while on your facility. Of course you will want to check in your town or county if a business license is required.

Personally, I would work under someone else at first. This would give you first hand experience while earning.P.s. I do hope you realize that you will be required to extract that horrible stuff from their bums.

Just a heads up!

Sometimes the American Kennel Club (AKC), which is the organization that sets the standards for breed dogs and the cuts, can change the standard breed cut but don't very often. Try to stay up to date. 4Learn about "designer dogs" these are dogs that are bred from two different pure bred dogs.

You can have fun and be more creative with the cuts if their owner allows.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
