How does the PSS Vocal Booth compare to $3000 plus commercially available units?

The PSS Vocal booth has been specifically designed for recording vocals in the project and home studio. The PSS Vocal Booth does not claim to give the type of complete “dead room” isolation of a $3000 unit. The PSS booth will give an absolute minimum of -39dB of isolation starting with 50mm acoustic foam installed.

With loaded vinyl starting at 4kg installed the isolating capabilities of the booth can go up to a maximum of over -51dB @ 1kHz. The PSS Vocal booth is ideal for recording in medium noise level areas. The booth will not however block out rumble and noise from trucks if you are on a main road with heavy traffic.

For this you will need to relocate the recording area or invest in a specialised booth. In this heavy noise situation even a full ”dead room” booth will not guarantee total isolation as noise levels can often exceed 90dB, only sheer mass will fully isolate this level of noise. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
