Baking soda, (sodium bicarbonate) is a natural cleaning agent. It can remove crayon marks from a wall so it's not infeasible that baking soda can remove stains from teeth. It is regarded as the cheapest and easiest ways to brighten teeth.

Well I only had tried baking soda once but my goal was to whiten teeth. However, I saw no effect of it well maybe because I only did once. I didn't like the taste of baking soda too that's why I didn't continue it.
With regards to removing plaques using baking soda, I cannot tell if it'd work or not because I had not experienced it personally. I naturally have yellowish teeth but I once asked my dentist if I could have a teeth whitening but then he told me after seeing them that they're okay and that I should not waste my money on it because teeth whitener is just like a nail polish well that's what he told me. This method is effective, but takes time. Don't rush, damages the tissue. Also, Floss twice a day.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
