How exactly does the referral program know if someone's signed up after clicking your link?

My understanding of how it works goes something like this.

When they click on your referral link a 'cookie' is installed on their computer.

I believe the cookie has a timer and expires after a certain time (could be 30days) If the person signs up while the cookie is still valid 'you' get the referee. I also believe your 10% comes out of HubPages share of the 'time' not necessarily traffic.

Your link is tracked and any activity from your link is tracked so that if someone signs up the programs knows it. If they just click the link it is also known. As long as they use the link that you used to refer them then you get the credit.

If by chance they visit another hub first then you might not get credit. I hope I have answered your question.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
