I found the birnbaum guides at a Disney store in a mall, while planning a disneyland trip, and it really helped with the planning. Also, unless you already have inside deals (I. E timeshares or family) for the travel and lodging, it is worth pricing a vacation package through the website.

We ended up having Disney handle the entire vacation for about what it would have cost us to do everything separately. (and got perks we wouldn't have, otherwise, including getting in to the parks an hour earlier, and having anything we bought delivered to our rooms) .
