Yes they do work. My grandmother was 14/15 when she married my 23-year-old grandfather. It wasn't so long ago when Westerners were marrying off their 12-year-old daughters to older men.

Plus what's wrong with marriage? Is it the age that you have a problem with or marriage itself? Or under-age sex?

If it's under-age sex you should remember that girls as young 11 sleep around in the West? In Holland I believe that the age of consent is only 12 and in Texas a girl of 14 can be married. I can't say that teenagers are preferred in Muslim countries.

In most Muslim countries girls are now expected to stay in education throughout her teenage years. In rural areas teenage girls may be married off as soon as they reach puberty because that is just tradition. Most women in their 20s would already be married.

I am sure that some men prefer teenage girls to those in their 20s but I don't know why.

The one thing you should realize in your question is "SOME", not common. Some does not mean common. While the way you put the question is, as if it is common.

As far as I can see, I have never seen such incidence in my vicinity. Probably have not even heard it here. Yeah I saw that on the TV, happening in TEXAS, where some Christians (perhaps Mormons) in a community were practicing multiple marriages and on top of that marrying to very very young girls.

Girls that they were holding in their laps i.e. Perhaps just 10-12 year old ones. And the Fox News anchor was so disgusted that she was shouting at them.

The greater problem in our country's backward regions is the "watta satta" marriages i.e. One guy marries to the sister of another guy and the other guy marries the sister of the first. That is more problematic.

Because one marriage is based on mutual attraction and willingness and the other one is based on some sort of agreement / equality basis. When there is problem in one marriage the other one suffers too. Because the partners of the other marriage somehow get into a revenge mode to make the same kind of troubles to their life partners.

With regards to the highly unbalanced age group marrying, I have yet to see that happening. @Edit As per prevalent understanding the Muslims think that they can marry upto 4 women at any given time. Yet, how many men do you see with even two wives?

:) It is a very very very rare event in our society. May be 1 in a 1000 or even less. And whenever it happens it is perhaps due to some problem i.e.

The first wife is not sterile to have children.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
