How important is voir dire?

Voir dire is a critical part of trial. It is the time when counsel builds a rapport with jurors and we, as a team, learn what motivates jurors (assuming the judge allows voir dire). Voir dire does not have to be 5 hours long to learn about a juror but it does have to be smart.

"Getting your story out there" is one function of voir dire, albeit small. You want to use voir dire to make sure you do not leave dangerous jurors on the panel. Only giving a pre-opening statement sheds little light on how each juror thinks and what role they might play on a jury.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
