Having 2 BTE hearing aids myself, I would not recommend alcohol or cleaning solvents to clean them as this breaks down the hearing aid material. Direct heat and water exposure will definitely damage them. Direct heat will cause both internal and external damage and water exposure will corrode or short circuit the internal electronics.
I recommend the following: 1. The daily use of a dessicant or dehumidifier to safely draw out any moisture accumulated in the hearing aids during the day (moisture damage is the biggest culprit for hearing aid repairs! ) 2.
Disconnecting the earmolds from the electronic part of the hearing aids and washing the earmolds in warm soapy water. Then let them air dry or place in a dehumidifier before reconnecting them to the hearing aids. 3.
Wiping the hearing aids with a soft cloth or tissue. 4. Removing any ear wax from the hearing aids and earmold tubing using a small brush or wax pick.
These are provided to patients when getting hearing aids. Replacement parts such as tubing and cleaning brushes are available at any audiology clinic. Tubing should be replaced every 3 to 6 months as it loses its flexibility over time and can become brittle and uncomfortable to wear.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
