I moved to melbourne in February from Tasmania so this was a new thing for me to. The signs at the bus stops (those poles that tell you the best numbers) say 'hail bus here' which means you've gotta watch for your bus and stand near the curb and give the driver a wave or some kind of clear signal to say I NEED TO GET ON THE BUS! :) I've noticed people just tend to walk out of the undercover area and stare at the driver or give a quick flick of the hand covertly.
I take the safe option and wave my hand at them. If they are full they won't stop.
It may have been an express bus that doesn't stop at your stop, or only stops if people want to get off. Or occasionally if they are so full that they can't take any more people they don't stop either.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
