Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were aboard Apollo 11 when Neil walked on the moon. Their rocket launched at 9:32 AM EST on July 16, 1969. Their lunar module landed on the surface of the moon at 8:17 AM EST on July 20, 1969.
