The answer varies depending on which doctor I need to see, the time of year, et cetera. Right now, it's very easy for me to get a next-day appointment with the clinic where my family doctor practices...especially if I call to schedule an appointment because I'm miserable (sinus/migraine problems, for example). They're also fairly efficient, so I tend to get in and out of that clinic within an hour, starting from the moment I walk through the door to check in.
The student clinic at my university is not quite as fast, but it's reasonable to expect an appointment within two days. Once I get into the clinic for my appointment, I tend to wait anywhere from fifteen to thirty minutes on average before the nurse calls me into the back to start with the pre-examination stuff (weighing me and such). I definitely take a book to these appointments, because there's some down time and reading is a great way to make the time pass more pleasantly.Now...for specialists, the appointments can take a while. My Mom's first appointment with her new dermatologist was two, three weeks after she called the office to schedule.
However, we had to wait only fifteen minutes before she was called to the back on the appointment day, because the place is fairly efficient - they even mailed her the patient paperwork before the appointment so that she could fill it all out at home and just hand it in. When they found out that she has melanoma, they got to her a LOT faster - her follow-up appointment after the biopsy results was, like, a few DAYS after the doctor got said results, and the procedure to take care of the melanoma was scheduled for a week and a half after that consultation. However, we used to use a local clinic that was absolutely insane.
It's right up the street from the clinic my family and I use now, but they're horrible. Every single time ANY of us had a scheduled appointment for ANYTHING, we waited no less than a solid hour before being called back. This came after waiting at least four, five days for an appointment, which seemed quick until we found the other, better clinic.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
