Answer very difficult to answer. Ireland was neutral in ww2 but many Irish fought and died in the british and u.s. Armed forces.
I have heard estimates of 5,000 to 20,000 but there is no easy figure In 1995 Irish Prime Minister John Bruton claimed at least 10,000 Irish were killed serving in the British or Commonwealth armed forces. All were volunteers The figure of 1000 dead is often ascribed to the dead during the bombing raids on Belfast (which, although actually part of the United Kingdom, is of course still in Ireland).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
