You bet we need to change the laws on gun possession. Another killer shooting up ... a gun free zone! If more laws were the answer, the victims of the latest shooting would have been safe.
Murder is illegal, assault with a deadly weapon is illegal, bringing a gun onto school property is illegal (except law enforcement) How about we look at the criminals that walk into gun free zones and start shooting. How about we make the penalty for assault with a deadly weapon severe enough that by the time the gangsta releases a rap song about doing violence ... he be rappin' from a wheelchair in an old convict's rest home. There are ways to prevent crimes like this, stripping away defensive firearms ain't it.
Hit anyone that attacks people without justification with the full weight of the most severe penalty the law allows (Hassan, Loughner, etc). For the cowards that kill themselves after their crime ... well I guess we can't very well punish them, can we? Release the killer's carcass to it's family and be done with it.
Its always been easy to get a gun in this country but only in the last 20 years or so have people engaged in mass shootings with such regularity as a way of acting out in their mental illness. I have to think it has more to do with the disintegration of our society than it has to do with gun laws. Our society used to be much more structured but now its a mess.
We have the drug culture, the horrible media with so much violence, even the games are violent. God has been ejected from the public and the family structure has resulted in many children being raised in single parent homes and spending a lot of time alone. That isn't good.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
