According to the most recent report, the number of medals that she may win could possibly be zero because of her injury. She has decided to not get an x-ray to see if she has broken her leg because she does not want to know either way. If she has broken her leg, it will make it virtually impossible for her to compete at her full potential.
Lindsay Vonn has a bad shin bruise, which causes her pain when wearing her ski boot, but does not interfere with her ability to ski. I expect she'll be fine, and will challenge for a medal in all of her events. That being said, I'll guess at two medals.
I know the media is playing up the possibility of five, and sure, there's a chance, but ski races rarely turn out exactly as expected, and it's so easy to make just one mistake that takes a person off the podium. I also wouldn't be surprised if the people in charge of Vonn's PR are playing up the injury story. There was so much hype about her and five medals that it placed expectations on her that were totally out of wack.
For instance, in her competitions to start 2010, she won a medal in around half the events. So to expect her to compete in and win in all five events in Vancouver is unrealistic. By playing up the injury, and having her say to the cameras that she wasn't even sure she could race, she is minimizing expectations and giving reporters something to write about if she doesn't win.
This way, there won't be any "Lindsey Vonn Chokes at the Olympics" stories.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
