Unfortunately for the Toshiba Folio, there are no apps available for download from the Android market to allow you to purchase movies to view on your device. This is because the Android market app does not come shipped with the Toshiba Folio due to software agreement conflicts with Google. You can however, transfer your movies from your computer to your Toshiba Folio using the SD card that comes with the device.
The number of movies you can put on your Folio will depend on two things – your budget and the size of your SD card. A typical movie size is between 700MB to 1.3GB. This means on a standard 8gb or 16gb SD card, you can put about 8 to 20 movies on your card.In contrast, the iPad gives you access to the iTunes store, which allows you to rent or purchase movies and TV shows.
Since the iTunes does not have an external memory card, the only other alternative is to purchase or rent them through iTunes on your computer and sync them to your iPad through iTunes. Again, the limit will depend on the size of your iPad and your budget for movie purchase and rental. Have fun!
