In logic and in debate and in almost all real-world situations, there is no burden of proof. A burden of proof does exist in the real world in these two situations: a - when all parties involved accept an authority, and that authority assigns a burden of proof to one of the parties be - when all parties involved agree that one of those parties will shoulder a burden of proof 2) Is it hard understand that burden of proof lies on the person making the positive claim? It's simplicity itself to understand.
It just happens to be wrong. Example: you made the positive claim, "burden of proof lies on the person making the positive claim". According to you, the burden of proof for this claim is on you.
**Prove** that the burden of proof lies on the person making the positive claim. (Hint: you can't prove it. It is an illogical claim.) Conclusion: your positive claim is itself unprovable (because it is illogical).
You put yourself in a logical trick box when you make the claim, "The burden of proof is on the positive claimant." - Jim, Bach Sci Physics 1989 P.S. It is NOT impossible to prove a negative. That myth is horribly illogical.
You got the first part right then royally screwed up the rest of it. Atheists do not claim to know that NO god exists, just certain definitions that are logically contradictory (which can't exist by their own definitions, so there's the proof of that). However, when theists claim a god exists it doesn't matter if it's a claim about their belief or not.
They claim to KNOW it, therefore it is their job to prove it. Just because I don't believe you when you make a claim like that doesn't mean I have to prove you wrong.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
