How much of a role do you think the Bush Administration has played in American global warming denial?

It's truly sad to see a slave revelling in his own enslavement and unable to see the bars of his own prison. Keep drinking the fluoride and be proud that you are the perfect example of years of conditioning.

History tells us that people who once held a belief in something which is then proven to be wrong or otherwise unacceptable, tend to just fade away into the background and scarcely mention the subject again. There are literally hundreds of such examples involving many millions of people. From those who pronounced that electricity was the work of the Devil, that human beings couldn’t withstand speeds in excess of 30 mph to some more modern beliefs such as those held by the supporters of Marxist or Communist ideologies and the people who claimed that smoking was either harmless or beneficial.

Unable to maintain such beliefs in the face of overwhelming evidence, they have tended to simply abandon their crusade and shuffle off into the darkness of obscurity; never to mention the subject again. Interestingly now, we are living in an information age where our comments and opinions are transmitted around the world in seconds and are recorded for all to see. It’s much harder now to distance oneself from previously held ideas and beliefs, and as we’ve seen on numerous occasions, past comments all too often come back to haunt people.

It’s also worth remembering that denialism is a complex psychological condition in which the denialist effectively constructs a mental filter that inhibits the flow of rational or logical thought processes and impedes the absorption of conflicting information. To this end, there are many deniers who are genuinely unaware of the reality that is occurring around them, to whit Answers is littered with hundreds, probably thousands, of such examples. The denial complex does not mean that the affected subject is in any way less of a person than those who are unaffected, as the condition is very specific.

The rest of their mental faculties perform perfectly well and in relation to other aspects, the ones that they are not in denial of, they are quite capable of applying objectivity, rationality, honesty, integrity etc. Another manifestation of denialism consequent to the selective retention of information, is that the denier is readily able to distance themselves from claims they have made. And again, this is something we frequently see happening. One denier who has not been active for some time was something of an expert in this area, s/he would do a complete U-turn on a subject and be completely unaware that they had realigned themselves in complete opposition to what s/he had been arguing earlier.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
