YES! Performance Arts can really increase self-esteem for any age group, particularly while kids are growing up.
I was in ballet, tap, and jazz-- from age 3 to 13. At age 13, I became involved in the Junior HS band playing a saxophone. I was involved in theater and drama productions in .
Later in college, I was involved as a singer in a performance singing group and was involved in the College talent competitions and theater productions.
All of this builds self-esteem, particularly if you can see increased skill in each area of interest.
Not only does performance art improve your self-esteem but any art form and musical ability can increase self confidence. The trick is to be willing to be BAD at something long enough to become GOOD at it, before giving up. You need passion and drive, often times-- to stick something out.
Pick something that you LOVE to do-- and you will stick things out through the difficult introductory learning curve, until you can master it!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
