There are many glaring differences but let's deal with the big one. In order to find common ground they will have to agree on who or what Jesus Christ is and was.
If you look at the two doctrinal positions that may be a tad difficult because If Jesus Christ was not the Son of God, as He claimed, then He was a liar and Christianity is a false religion. On the other hand if He was the Son of God then Muhammad is a liar and Islam is a false religion. It would be a little difficult for either side to trivialize this difference.
I'm sure you will agree the negotiations on this point would be rather difficult. For better or worse there are no minor points of contention in religion.
Other than the fact that Christianity (supposedly) teaches love; there is no clear line in between. This is my opinion. Both religions have slaughtered countless people in the name of God and has strived hard to convert.
Christians have strayed from the Bible and uses it as they please, to however it benefits them. Muslims and Christians have been at war for ages. I am christian.
I try to live by the text. I is hard and I am far from perfect. I still do believe what the scriptures teach.
They two religions are both bloody and have no way to convince that they are the better choice. The trials that our country is engaged in right now are a product of this fued between Christians and Muslims. I am inclined to lean towards the word of God when I think about an outcome.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
