The tube that goes up from the fork is the steerer. The handlebar stem will fit inside the steerer. The stem will have either a spreader or a wedge at the bottom.

When you screw the long bolt at the top of the handlebar, it will pull up the spreader or the wedge pressing the stem against the inside of the steerer You will have to screw the long bolt while holding it up so the spreader or the wedge will not spin. There should be mark on the stem telling how far up it can be placed. If you go too high it may fail.

Make sure the handlebar and the fork and tire are aligned and tighten the bolt.

You could have bought this bike from your LBS already assembled and saved a lot of time and trouble, it might have cost a little more, but you would have confidence that it would be safe and properly assembled, they would also probably delivered it! You would also have less hassle dealing with any warranty issues which might arise.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
