Cracks often occur on the inside of the hose because this is the surface that is exposed to the hot fluid and chemicals. These cracks usually occur near the clamps.
The way to test for them is, while everything is cool or cold, squeeze the hose with your fingers near the clamps and work you way away from the clamps. Be sure to feel all around the circumference of the hose. If the hose is cracked on the inside you will feel an obvious difference.
You will feel what seems like a fine weak line in the hose. This crack runs in the direction of the hose length.
