How to cook a whole turkey in oven?

This is SO easy to do. We were having a roasted turkey for the football game Saturday and I had to work. I made a rub and my boyfriend took it from there!

It was moist and tender. 1) Make sure the turkey is completely thawed, keeping it in the refrigerator. If you run out of time and the turkey still isn't thawed, clean your sink well, fill it with cool water and submerge the turkey.

Change the water every hour to keep it cool. 2) When thawed, removed the turkey from the package. Remove the neck and bag(s) of guts from the cavities.3) Rinse the turkey and pat dry with paper towels.4) Place the turkey BREAST SIDE DOWN in a large roasting pan.

If you don't have a lid, cover with foil.5) Place turkey into a preheated 325 degree oven. Betty Crocker has a great chart to estimate how long the turkey will take based on weight. bettycrocker.com/how-to/charts-and-guide... 6) Leave the turkey alone - do not peek, do not baste, do not bother - until at least 75% of the estimated cooking time has elapsed.7) When the time approaches, check the temperature with an instant-read digital thermometer (the BEST $10 investment in kitchen gadgets you will ever spend!).

Insert the probe in the thickest part of the thigh and make sure it doesn't touch the bone. I personally prefer the turkey to reach 180 degrees. Some "experts" will argue, but my turkey is moist AND roasted through.

8) Remove the foil and allow the skin to brown for approximately 20 minutes.9) Remove the turkey from the oven, then the roasting pan onto a platter and allow to rest for at least 20 minutes. This is all from my personal experience. I've roasted the guts inside the turkey.

I've taken it out of the oven when the pop-up thingie popped-up and it was still raw. Simply said, I've made mistakes. However, for over 15 years I've oven-roasted turkeys this way and it's always been cooked through and always moist.

Good luck!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
