How to lay bottom border of button (white) over bottom border of containing div?

I put together a somewhat sloppy jsFiddle to demonstrate.

I put together a somewhat sloppy jsFiddle to demonstrate: Make sure to hover the links to see it in action. jsfiddle.net/Madmartigan/xb6mY/ Basically, you combine your negative margin trick with position:relative (to get z-index to work) and some extra bottom padding on the anchor. Apply the border to the wrapper (list item) and not to the anchor.

I assumed you wanted the tab to stay in place and not sink down. Sorry for the poor explanation, but I think maybe the jsfiddle can do a better job of explaining than I can at the moment, GL!

Thanks a ton! That jsFiddle thing is Awesome! I actually ended up only needing to make my bottom border white and 2px wide... I kind of have a very weird situation where I am trying make this work with some DevExpress buttons because I don't want to monkey with someone's previous multi-view (blah blah blah... .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
