How to Refill a Zippo Lighter?

Before you attempt to fill your lighter make sure you have the correct fluid, you want liquid fluid like Ronsonal, or fluid made by and for Zippo. Hold the lighter in one hand with your thumb and index fingers on the skinny sides of the lighter and squeeze. With the other hand pull on the lighters chimney.

The lighter should come apart. Now the end with the chimney is filled with cotton and topped with a soft cover and a screw. The screw is for the flint, when you need to change flint remove the screw and replace the flint.

Fill the Zippo by pulling the soft cover aside and squeze the fluid out of its can into the Zippo. Once you have the Zippo filled and back together wipe any excess fluid off of the lighter. Light the lighter and give it a minute or so to burn off any access fluid.

Remove the lighter from the case by pulling up. Turn the lighter over and notice the felt material (cotton or sponge) on the bottom. Notice the tiny hole also.

Align the tip of the fluid can with the hole and fill until the spongy material is saturated. Remove excess fluid. Put back in case.
