If it attacked your religion, that is a matter of opinion. People have a right to express their opinions, even if others may be offended. Move on, don't read things that offend you.
If it attacked you personally, other individuals, or a group of people, you could flag the hub as a personal attack.
Nothing if you can't make a comment that is respectful in disagreeing with the hub. I just don't read things that offend me if I can't be reasonable. I agree with Website Examiner.
You weren't attacked personally so don't flag the hub.
I probably wouldn't do anything. I recognize that people have different viewpoints and opinions on things. I try hard to learn about those other viewpoints rather than getting upset.
Its good to engage in a healthy discussion with others, but only if both parties are making intelligent arguments and haven't resorted to slander and name-calling. Sometimes people post things to deliberately get a rise out of others. This tactic helps boost traffic to those articles because it is controversial (I don't condone this method by the way).
Since you posted a question about the hub, it proves that tactic is working. Personally, I would just skip over it and find something nicer to read. If you feel that the hub is abusive, slanderous, or untrue, you should flag it so that the moderators can check it out and remove it.
This is probably easier said than done but you should not take any hub personally. Generally if I come across a hub which I disagree with I either do one of two things. Sometimes I write a well thoughout comment offering my view point in response to some of the points made in the hub and other times I write my own hub offering readers a different spin on the same subject.
Thank God for free speech! :-)Inspiration comes in many ways!
Just chiming in to mostly agree with what the others have said. There are SO many opinions on the web that represent the world's diversity, and whether its an opinion posted as a comment or an article you've read, you have to accept diversity (not necessarily embrace it). It is a natural instinct to want to "convert" people to share our own perspective in more than just religion.
I totally agree with Ddraigcoch, just post your tasteful opinion in the comment section if you feel the need, but otherwise chalk it off as someone who hasn't seen the light yet. :).
I would say you need to put your side of the debate on the hub as a comment. There are many different religions and faiths, if you feel your own is on the correct side of a hub that you feel is wrong, then give your side of the debate with knowledge and logic.
The best thing to do is forget about it and avoid hubs/articles or websites that you know will offend you in the future . There will be many articles on subjects we might not believe in or have a view opposite to our own & it doesn't do us any good to dwell on them . I personally hate horror so I stay away from anything to do with it as it is not fair to look it up and attack the writers when I can go read something I enjoy .
Everybody has a right to opinions, some chose to abuse that right. I guess it can be difficult not to offend people sometimes. Some get offended because of life experiences they've had, which you can never URL1 makes sense not to read, or if you do read and you feel it may put somebody in danger (exploiting children etc) flag it.
Do whatever will satisfy your happiness. If you want to tell the person off then tell them off. If you can't tell them off respectfully then tell them off very brutally. As long as you are comfortable with your actions then do what you need to do.
Just remember that actions have consequences and be prepared to accept the consequences. If you don' think you can accept the consequences, then move on and be quiet about it. I personally do not give a hoot what anyone thinks about me.
If I am personally offended by something, I believe it is having integrity to stand up for what I believe no matter what the consequences are. The world is in the bad shape it is because there are too many passive people that just want to be quiet so they don't offend someone. I say screw it, and say it like it is.
I hope this helps you.
When it's about religion, it's only an opinion and we shouldn't be bothered by it. All religion is based on opinion, not fact so just relax and forget about it.
It is unfortunate, but it is part of our freedom. I have read several hubs that made me so angry and I realize, that while it made me angry, it was their right to publish it. It's hard though especially of something we love is attacked.
Personally, I would let it go. Someone's opinion is just that, their opinion and you have every right to author a hub about your religion to contradict the one you read.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
