You should be fine for re-entry if you will be out less than 30 days unless you have other issues First you should contact an immigration lawyer to talk about this, since what I am telling you right now might have changed since I last knew. Aliens who are traveling in Mexico, Canada, and the Carribeans except Cuba for less than 30 days, whose original visas have expired but status of stay in the US is still valid (I-94), can re-enter the United States without obtaining a new visa. This is called automatic revalidation.

If you are in the process of adjusting status, I suggest you do not take the risk unless you already obtained advance parole. And if you have already applied for a new visa, automatic revalidation will not work since you will be admitted or not based on your new application. And if you are from a group of "high risk" countries, automatic revalidation does not apply.

There might be other concerns, and if you have to take the trip, make sure you take EVERYTHING with you, including all the supporting documents you submitted for the original visa. And if you plan to stay more than 30 days, you need a new visa. Hope I have helped.
