I think you should move to Florida, but not into one of those gated communities. Several of my family members have retired in Florida, because there are no state taxes, so they don't have to worry about paying taxes on retirement money. But make sure you avoid gated communities, or other areas that have expensive homeowners association (HOA) fees.
These fees quickly add up, and you will wind up paying as much or more than you paid for your family home. Also, keep a close eye on homeowner's insurance. Avoid living in areas that are frequented by storms (the west coast is a good choice), and don't live right on the beach.
If you live towards the west coast of Florida, but no on the beach, your insurance rates should be much more reasonable. Delaware is also a very nice state to go for retirement. I think they do not have sales tax either.
Plus, you'll be close to your friends in Pennsylvania. Good luck!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
