I am struggling trying to keep my weight down as I am also diabetic and just newly on insulin. I keep gaining weight. I am on cortef. What can I do?

I am on 15 mg of cortef, I go to the gym 4 times a week, walk over l0,000 steps a day, and am very careful what I eat because of my diabetes. Nothing is helping. I do all the exercise I can do, and don't know what else to do.

I will ask my specialist when I see her at the end of September. I am assuming that you are on cortef because you have Addison's disease. If you are gaining weight, there are a variety of possibilities: 1.

You are on more cortisol than you need. 2. You are not as active as you should be.

3. You are taking in too many calories. The easiest of these possibilities is the dose of cortef.

The dose requirement for cortisol is variable from one person to another, usually between 15 and 30 mg per day. The lowest dose that keeps you feeling well is the best for you. Too much cortisol will also make your blood sugar more difficult to control so it is worthwhile taking a careful look at it.

More.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
