I am watching a rerun of the show Las Vegas. There is a person on the episode that can tell you when you are going to die, which makes me wonder....would you want someone to be able to tell you when you were going to die? I mean if the person truly had a track record predicting when people would die, would you want to know?(not me!) Nope. Don’t want to mess with that "life is a box of chocolates" metaphor from Forrest Gump. In fact, not knowing is my only excuse for procrastinating, something I do a lot of -- to no ill-effect.
If there are things undone when I die, well, that will be someone else’s bon bon. I do not like to sound selfish or mean, and I believe I'm not either of those things. I get done for others anything that needs doing "now."
Usually. But knowing the time of my death would add guilt and fear and more stress than I could handle over not being able to do all that I might wish.
1 No, I wouldn't want that information influencing how I live. I already feel enough pressure just knowing that my days here are numbered, without knowing exactly what that number is! .

I don't think so. For the sake of argument, were I to truly believe it, it might make me reckless, skewing the odds in the wrong direction.

3 I would be curious, but nope I'd rather leave my future to unfold itself naturally, so I can accept it naturally....if you now what I mean. If I knew when I was going to die life wouldn't be as meaningful and fun to live, because you would always be thinking of how soon your time here would be ending. You wouldn't be living your life naturally.
Plus, there would be no final surprise, and I love a surprise.

4 I agree with everyone - including the person that answered. I just couldn't do it! I've already had doctors try to put an expiration date on me...they were SO wrong!
I think it would change everything about the person you really are, that it would almost derail your life.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
