I think the previous answers are pretty comprehensive. I would say though that it's a great idea to have lots of liquid in the house if you are breastfeeding as I way always thirsty. A couple of lasagnes (or similar) that you can pop in the oven is handy as you will be exhausted and probably won't feel like preparing anything.
I was lucky, my mother-in-law brought some over the day I left the hospital. Also for a newborn some kimono wrap style sleepsuits and vests make changing time so much less stressful. Hope this helps (a little...).
I have a two week old right now and completely agree with Tomono - lots of water! Keep a large waterbottle full and close by you all the time. So often now I forget to grab a glass before I sit down and get comfortable to feed her, and have to get her dad to grab me something.
And worry less about what to have when they're 2 months and more when they are two days. You'll be living so much on a day to day basis that having diapers and wipes are really the key to success. Those velcro snuggle swaddlers are REALLY awesome though; our daughter breaks out of her swaddle so easily and wakes herself up that the velcro helps a lot =).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
