If you 'advertise' your hubs you may get flagged for self-promotion. People will start to notice you if you regularly participate in positive ways-- like commenting on the hubs of others, and making forum posts.
You can also do a site search on the subject of getting traffic or views-- or you can join one of the challenges or contests, which usually helps you get a lot of views.
You do not post links to your hubs to promote yourself, but you can post a link to one or two hubs in the "Extreme Hub Makeover" forum, where people can make suggestions for improving your work.
I know how you feel! As a new hubber, I am constantly wondering and checking back my account obsessively! :)it is like the first days on facebook, it has been a while since you asked your question, so you probably don't feel this way anymore.
Well, from what I can see you are definitely interesting!
I just took a look at your latest hub. You would do better if you added a few more capsules to your hubs, make them longer and more interesting.
You can add any number of capsules, but try adding a slideshow (over 5 photos), videos and some news capsules.
Just keep writing lots and lots, like music or anything else some will be hits and others won't.
When you get your hits, you will start to see what people want and what they don't.
Check out Google Trends, What's Hot list (Ebay, Amazon).
That will get you some idea of what people are intrested in.
There I will have a look through your hubs and get back too you.
Thank you for the all of the feedback I really appreciate it.
Try to more active in forum. Comment on other people's hubs and answer questions etc. This way people will become more aware of your work at hubpages. This will bring in more comments and traffic for your hubs.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
