Wow, that is pretty neat. Are you sure they are dinosaurs? I hope you contacted a paleontologist - since you are in SF, you can probably get in contact with one through the California Academy of Sciences.

The bones in your yard are a fact, and even if you don't like the standard interpretation of what they mean, you might as well contribute to the body of data regarding them. If your faith is tested as a result, good luck with that, but I don't think you can turn away if it is in your own yard. This might be a good chance to become a real expert on the question, so you can be more confident of your position.

I imagine your minister or priest can give you good advice. Still, that is really fascinating, and I hope you end up having a fascinating journey as a result of your discovery.

Dinosaurs were for real! However, if you have actually found their bones in your yard (and how do you know they are dinosaur bones?) -- PLEASE call the university closest to you and have them examined IN SITU (do not dig them up). I am a young creation creationist and I know that dinosaurs were very real and very much alive at one time.

This has nothing to do with faith. God does not lie in You can follow the data and know that it will lead you to the truth. It is the various interpretations of the data which can be a stumbling block, or the fact that much data is ignored, quite purposely.

But you do not need to be afraid of the actual facts themselves..

If you have really discovered dinosaur bones there is no way it should be testing your faith. There is actually a dinosaur described in the Bible, specifically the King James. Look in the book of Job starting at 40:15, get a picture of a brontosaurus and see if the description matches.

Also make note of v.17,..."his stones are wrapped together". Stones = testes. I've heard it said that alligators and crocodiles are leftovers from the time of dinosaurs, look at the anatomy of one of these beasts (male).

You will find the testes are long and wrapped together. If you believe dinosaurs are more related to birds you will also find birds only have one testicle. Either way the description in Job fits well.

If carbon dating and such things bother you, don't worry about it. If you don't have access to advanced study material concerning the original languages in the bible just borrow a NIV version. Look at Gen.1v.2 "Now the earth was formless and empty," now look at the footnote relating to the word was.

You will find "or possibly (became)". Now you have the key. Just read the first two verses in the bible and replace the word "was" in verse 2 with the word "became".

Now it all falls together. "1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth became formless and empty,..." The time between Gods original creation and the second verse in the Bible could very well have been many millions of years.

You see in 1611 when the original King James was translated they had no knowledge of dinosaurs, carbon dating and such. They certainly could have translated the word "was" as "became". That translation would have been equally accurate.

They just didn't know then what we know now. Unfortunately many churches are stubborn, just ask Galileo. They still insist the earth is only about 6,000 years old and it's all on account of a very simple mistranslation.

Probably not. Are the bones white and light, or made out of solid rock? Dinosaur bones are soooo old, there is none of the original material there.It has all been replaced by mineral water dripping through them for many many many years.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
