I HAD highlights,I wanted to go back to auburn & went to a salon, needless to say now I have pink hair in spots...HELP! I used to have beautiful auburn colored hair, and was bored with it. So I got highlights put in it for summer.

I decided after all of the up keep that I wanted to go back to my auburn color hair. I went to my hairdresser and she put a red/mahogany color in my hair. Needless to say, where the highlights were are now bright hot pink in the sun!

I need help. What can I do? It was done yesterday, I don't want my hair to fall out or anything from being colored too much.

BLEACH(HIGHLIGHTS) ARE FOREVER! Until they are cut off......its better to use a SEMI Perm color on it, since you will have to do it often, to keep the highlights from coming through. There is a HUGE!

Differnce between a hairstylist(JACK OF ALL TRADES) and a colorist. However I am shocked a graduate of beauty school(not really shocked LOL) doesn't know that you have to put on a GOLD base of some sort to keep the color from turning......mostly its green, but dealing witjh REDHEADS it WILL ALWAYS be pink. Your best bet is to get a SEMI permanant color(no peroxide) remember if you use NO peroxide, you can ONLY deposit color NOT LIFT, so it will be darker, however it will lighten up after about 8 shampoos.... Auburn, thats a tough one, because normally it has either a ORANGE BASE or a RED-ORANGE BASE..both of those have a tendancy to go very brazzy/pinkie...... Clariol makes some nice reds.....if your hair is short.....you can use WATERWORKS....they have some great reds.

Rule of thumb for anyone who has dyed red hair....you must wear sunscreen your hair or a hat....The sun will turn "fake" red hair very brazzy and if its highlighted it can go pink very easy.....(and yes they do make sunscreen for your hair-REDKEN) Once you get the color you want, make sure that you use a colored shampoo(shampoo with color in it) every 3rd shampoo..this will help to keep your red in longer. Red fades very fast and because you have bleach on it too, it will take some maintainance. If you do this yourself......wet your hair(DO NOT WAH IT) Just wet it, and put a heavy conditioner on it (k-pac, hayashi 911 etc) comb it through then put the color right on top of it...this will help to protect your scalp, your ends and also provide protection from porous spots, that may grab the color.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
