Your going to need the RESTORE discs....did your PC come with those. Normally its at least 7-12 discs. If you use those you should be able to wipe the entire computer, however you need to find out how you got all these viruses, and change your PC habits.
If your using Internet Explorer-DON'T use it anymore, download Firefox, it is a sfater browser...if Your not happy with Norton(this program is the biggest utility HOG ever, it sucks up all yiour rsources. You could try something FREE until you purchase another AV....Normally if you are using UP TO DATE virus protection, it is your surfing/usage habits that are causing all your problems. If you do use your restore discs.....down load: AVG~The free version(I actually used the free one for years but I bought the entire Security suite last year and its great) SPYBOT ADVANCED WINDOWS CARE NETCRAFT which is a toolbar for firefox, that will tell you BEFORE you go on a bad site....it makes ure you know your heading for trouble also I use Mcafee Site Advisor(I use GOGGLE alot so this lets me know before I even click on a link if its a good choice or a NO NO If you ever really get stuck majorgeeks.Com the best support forum ever for every problem you can think of when it comes to PC security .
1 there is hope. Doing a format on the hard drive and reinstalling all your software from the original discs will wipe out the viruses, but you will lose a lot of data in the process. I can't walk you through the process, though - I will leave that to someone better qualified.

2 I love it! I love to hate computers too. FYI, Norton sucks; don't put it back on afterwards.
A few ways to go here..If when you boot it gives you the option to press like f11 or something for system restore, you can follow that and it will basically reformat, and restore it like it was on day 1..(with norton) If you happen to have the system disks, (probably not, since they want you to buy them,) but you could boot from them and do the same job. Have you tried restoring to an earlier time? Start> all programs>Accessories>System tools>System restore> restore to an earlier time....(before problems started) When this is done, download the Norton removal tool and nuke norton.
Download something like AVG or Avast instead.

3 You need to do a low level formatting of the hard disks on your system. Do it and reinstall while not connected to the internet (unplug the cable and turn off your modem)! Execute the format program from your CD without booting up Windows.
I don't know the details; but someone else here should be able to help you. When you get Windows reinstalled create a limited user account and only use it instead of the default unlimited one. Use passwords on yor user accounts.
Only use the unlimited user account when you need to install safe software. Cripple internet explorer so that it can only access Microsoft to get updates. Now it should be safe to get onto the internet and get Microsoft updates.

4 If it's an HP, it has a recovery partition on the hard drive. When you boot the computer, it has an option to use that to reinstall Windows. One of the function keys will get you there, but I'm not at home right now, so I can't tell you which URL1 may show up in the boot options menu when you boot with F8.
As others have suggested, get AVG or Avast for your antivirus, and get Spybot Search and Destroy, too. They work better than Norton; they are less invasive, and they're free. Turn on automatic updates for Windows, and use FireFox for web browsing.
Fuzzy's suggestion of using a limited user account for web browsing is a good one, too. Bugaboos can't install themselves unless they inherit admin rights from you.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
