I have 100 patches from Boy Scout events that my son has attended. Any ideas on what to sew them on for a gift? I would love to sew these patches on something, and present it to him at his Eagle Court of Honor.

A quilt or banner It would be *really* cool to make a quilt for your son and incorporate the patches into it. You can also use fabrics from his childhood -- old clothes, uniforms, a special blanket. There are also kits that you can use in a regular computer printer to put photos on fabric.
Sew the patches onto a picture taken at the time. You could even leave the quilt a little unfinished to include a photo from his Court of Honor. Another idea would be to make a wall hanging, like a banner.
Similar ideas as a quilt, in that you could use special fabrics and pictures, but it could be a little smaller and simpler. If you are not a sewer yourself, your local fabric store should be able to help you. Don't settle for a JoAnn Fabrics or chain craft store -- their employees often have little experience or interest in helping with major projects.
Look for a store that concentrates on fabric and sewing. Also, you can look on the internet for a quilt guild or group that meets in your area. You might even be able to hire someone there to do the majority of the work for you.
Congrats to you and your son! Sources: opinion .
Great ways to use the patches, although maybe not so timely: Present him with pictures for his bedroom walls: Hot glue them to sheets of colored mat board, then have them framed. He will always be reminded of these important achievements. Make advent calendars with holiday themes.
They can be sewn onto the felt (or whatever you use). They would serve as the little "doors" that open up. They could also be passed down to his children, creating a family tradition!
Sew them onto a valance in his room. Stitch them together loosely to create a decorative garland. This can be used as a birthday banner, Christmas tree decoration, or just to decorate his room.
They could be glued around the edges of small storage boxes for his room. Tape them to sheets of paper, scan them into your computer, then print them in grayscale. Afterwards, get them bound together as a simple book at a place like Office Max.
Imagine the sentimental value when you give them to his future wife, who’s expecting your future grandchild. A first coloring book! .
I am going to............... sew all my sons patches on a blanket/quilt. I thought about a jacket or vest, but fear they will grow right out of them. A blanket they will have forever.
I also like the size, plenty of room for tons of patches. With a 100, you could do 50 on one side and 50 on the other, good luck! You must be so proud of him!
Another idea is a new sleeping bag and sew all the patches on it. P. S.
I love your Avatar! .
2 a quilt that he could hang on the wall. That sounds like ALOT of patches.

What would be a good sewing machine, to get for my daughter(as a gift) who wants to learn how to sew.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
