No problem, they'll be fine, I've moved them from a 5 gal. Tank to a 50 gal with no problems,........ except that they seemed to have gotten BIGGER....... :-/ .

Well...if they're 'making it' OK. In 3 gal. , why would you think that they wouldn't in 5?

To me it seems it would be 'nicer' for them. Actually, if memory severs me correctly...what's best for fish, namely goldfish...is 1 gal. Per fish.

Although their biggest size is governed by species, fish will get bigger as their containment space gets bigger.
