Brownies are one of my favorite things to make because they are so easy and good! I usually always buy the generic, plain mix and jazz it up. I fly by the seat of my pants on brownie creation and here are some of the things I have come up with.
Mint Brownies- Make the batter as the box says. Unwrap some Andes Mints and push them down into the batter after it is spread in the pan. Bake as suggested.
Carmel Brownies - Make batter as box says. Put in pan. Use any Carmel ice cream topping and drizzle over the top.
Don't be stingy on this. Swirl Carmel in. Chocolate Brownies - Add to mix.1 Teaspoon of Vanilla and some chocolate chips, chocolate chunks or mini chocolate chips.(you can really add just about any chip.
Peanut butter, mint, swirl chips, white chocolate chips, etc. , you can even put in more then one kind of chip. This is the easiest way to change things up a bit.) Bake as box says. Peanut butter brownies - Make as box suggests.
Put batter in a pan.In bowl mix together, some peanut butter, powdered sugar and a bit of milk just to thin it out. I eyeball this so I don't have exact measurements. Swirl the peanut butter mixture through the batter in pan.
Bake as usual. Hope one of these works and you have a great treat!
You could always whip up a simple little caramel sauce... recipe here: simplyrecipes.com/recipes/caramel_sauce/ Sort of swirl this around into the brownie batter and then bake them until done. Or toss in some crushed walnuts if you have them. Probably not incompatible with the above.
Okay, I was looking for a recipe, but then I found this one...it appeals to me due to the use of coffee! I realize this may not work with your mix, but perhaps some improvisation is in order? --quote-- 3 - LAYER BROWNIES FIRST LAYER: 1 c.

I know it sounds kinda gross, but I had some of these last week and they were pretty darn good: Black Bean Brownies 101cookbooks.com/archives/amazing-black-....
Some yummy suggestions here. But my favorite has always been coconut flakes. They really blend well, and don't change the texture of the brownies too much.
If you haven't tried it, you must, unless of course you hate coconut. Some powdered sugar is also always the perfect sprinkling on brownies. Cheers, Ray.
Mix and bake as directed, removing from the oven just before they are done. Spread a layer of mini marshmallows over the brownies and place back in the oven until they are puffy and slightly melted. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with Mint Chocolate M&M Premiums.
Here are a couple of simple fixes. Most folks have some flavoring on hand. Try adding a little butter, vanilla, or almond flavoring to your Generic mix.
You could also add a couple of table spoons of crunchy peanut butter, or a can of cherry pie filling to your mix. You may also try using melted/softened real butter instead of oil. An extra egg yolk gives a richer brownie and a couple of tablespoons of self rising flour gives a heartier brownie. At Christmas time, try adding an extra tablespoon of cocoa to your mix before adding any wet ingredients.
Then just before the brownie is done, sprinkle broken pieces of peppermint over the top and place in oven to finish baking. For a rich mocha add a tablespoon of instant coffee. All these can be done without increasing the bake time by much.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
