I have a Canon i860 printer, but lost the software CD. How can I install the printer? Or is it a lost cause?

I've checked the canon website, and it says that there are no downloads available for this model. The CD is hopelessly lost, my house is a mess ;). Anyways, is there any other way to install it without software, or is there a way to obtain the software?

The driver is available from Canon's website. It would help to know which operating system you’re using. If it’s Windows XP or Vista, the odds are very good that the OS will obtain the necessary drivers automatically.

However, the Canon website DOES offer the drivers for download - assuming that you’re using Windows XP or some other version that’s not too antiquated. Just follow the following steps: Go to the Canon website. Click on "Downloads" and then on "Consumer" from the drop-down menu that appears.

For "1 - Select Category", choose "Printers". For "2 - Select Product Type" choose "I Series" (the fifth option) For "3 - Select model", choose "i 860 Series" On the next screen, select your operating system. The executable installation file for the driver will appear in the box immediately below the OS selection box.

Click on it and execute it, or right-click on it, save it to your desktop, and run it from there. You can also download manuals from the same page if you want. But honestly, Windows is very likely to just grab the necessary driver automatically once it detects that you’ve connected the hardware.

Contact canon the customer service department at Canon is one of the best! I would suggest you contact them by email or phone and I am sure they can help you download one or send you a CD with it on it. They did that for a friend of mine when he lost his CD and he had a replacement within a few days.

That is the reason I only buy canon Printers now, because they have great quality and wonderful Customer Service & Support! Otherwise Here is a place online that seems to have it where you can Download it. drivers.softpedia.com/get/PRINTER/CANON/... I did a search on Goggle for i860 driver.

You need a driver. Drivers, software and manuals are all available for download from Canon USA here. When you get to this page, you need to select your OS and give it a bit of time to refresh.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
