Catalog.graybar. Com 1-800-472-9927- is the best place to start hello this is newbie 1596086- your fixture may be fixed several ways 1 ) an adapter may be available to screw directly into the light fixture and then you would screw a 110 volt light bulb into that or 2) and this could be tricky ,you might find a new lamp socket that could replace the existing ones in your fixture . I am an electrician and have yet to run across such a request.

I would recommend that you log onto catalog.graybar. Com or call them at 1 800-472-9227 . They are the largest electrical supply house in the country and may have the part(s) you need ,or help you find them.

I would call the 800# and talk to a product specialist instead of going to the web site first. Technically a 220 volt light bulb should work on 110 volts but you need to make sure the socket shell is connected to the neutral -return -white wire and the contact in the middle is connected to hot wire for safety reasons ( this is proper polarity) as the bulb has a different resistance (ohms) the light ( lumins) wattage achieved may be different. The bulb (lamp) itself is also different as to the screw shell threads are metric vs american standard measurements.

Best of luck with your project -newbie p.s. A 110v light bulb should never be used with a 220 volt current Sources: googled graybar for you Google Map No map found. Google Map I SEE YOUR IN MARYLAND THIS MAY HELP View Larger Map .

If there is something special that keeps you from changing the bulbs then the only other thing you can do is to have an electrician re-wire the circuit to 220V. But if you do that and need to replace a bulb, you'll end up buying a bulb from Europe. Also, I don't think this would effect you but I know the frequency of Europe's A/C is different than ours.

I shipped a pool vac to a friend in Europe who rewired it to 220V. Normally this has problems with overheating. However he found an electrician that rewired it in a way to resolve his heating issues.

I'm not an electrician so I really suggest you call an electrician to get some firm answers..

1 Since we don't have 220 volt electricity here, it will be OK. It just has better wires than is necessary here.

2 Unless the bulbs are different. Are they? .

": Well, that's actually the problem, European light bulbs has longer thread and much wider so, 110 bulbs are way small.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
