If she maintains a studio (including at home) that is her usual and customary place of work, travel to outside jobs is deductible. If she does not maintain a studio and does all of her work in the field, the first trip out at the beginning of the day and the last trip home at the end of the day are non-deductible commuting miles. Trips between locations are deductible business miles.
