I have a "HE" front load machine which is in my basement, which floods, is it safe to put it up on wooden pallets?

If it has a tendency to hop around when the load is out of balance it may "walk" off the pallet. You might be able to add a border of 2 x 4's around it that are well secured to the pallet, or you might attach the washer legs directly to the pallet. In lieu of that you will either have to monitor it closely when it's in spin cycle, or secure it to the wall, which I don't recommend.

Wood absorbs water and floats well. I'd pick up 4 concrete deck plugs and level the machine on them. Lowe's or Home Depot should have them.

I built a platform to elevate my washer and dryer for other reasons, and have not had trouble with it wandering off. I'm not sure I would trust most wooden pallets, though. As maggo says, use a border to prevent walking, just in case.

I know in the past with the top loaders with the agitator in the middle that the force of the spin would cause the washer to move. My washer does not move, so I was not sure if the old wooden pallat was just as unsafe for front loaders as it was for those top loaders. Thanks for the feedback.

The old ones were built to last, and be reused, but the newer ones just get thrown away.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
